A week later and many Detroit Lions fans still haven’t come down from the amazing comeback victory against the New Orleans Saints.  In the teams worst game statistically for the #1 ranked defense, many Lions fans actually left the game early while the home town team was down by two scores late in the 4th. Led by Matthew Stafford and Golden Tate, the team rallied and brought the game within one score. Glover Quin would then intercept Drew Brees and Stafford would lead a calculated drive ending in the first career TD for receiver Corey Fuller.  The defense held and the Lions won by a single point. This week, the team travels to London to face another NFCS team, the Atlanta Falcons. There are plenty of under the radar match ups to look forward to, and we’ll once again dig deep and find them. Lions Camp Notes, Aug. 2nd

Saturday was family day at Allen Park. There were jubilant kids everywhere. It also meant a day off for veterans Calvin Johnson and Rashean Mathis, and only shoulder pads and helmets for everyone else. I’m having issues with the picture uploader, unfortunately, so those will have to wait. I got some good shots, as did Kent Lee Platte’s mom, who knows her some football!

After practice I got to hobnob a little with some trusted sources and they gave me some interesting info on the recent draft, which I’ll write up in an article later this week. Teaser: the Lions would not make the big jump Buffalo did for Sammy Watkins, period.

–Ryan Broyles is not being held back at all. In fact, he might be seeing more work than any other receiver. (more…)

Nothing like a tough loss to deflate all the positive vibes from a strong preseason and impressive opening win. The Lions hit the road and the road hit back, as Arizona overcame a lengthy Lions lead and beat Detroit 25-21 on Sunday. (more…)

Of all the things we could take away from the Lions preseason drubbing of the Patriots, it’s that this rookie class could have a huge impact this season…for better or worse.  The Lions have been less apprehensive getting their rookies some work this preseason than what we’ve been accustomed to, and the returns are mostly positive so far.  Today we’re going to take a look at how the rookies fared in the team’s third preseason contest.
