DJ Swearinger can be an imposing figure at safety
Jeff Risdon, DLD Editor
I know it will be hard for Lions fans to look past Dee Milliner’s 40-yard dash time, but there were some other DBs that performed in Indy who will merit attention from the Lions at various points in the draft. I’ll have a breakdown of the most viable candidates for the #5 tomorrow, and that list is a lot smaller than it was a week ago and it includes Mr. Milliner. He is the only DB on that list.
This summary omits a few players that will go before the Lions pick in the 2nd round(Jamar Taylor, Kenny Vaccaro, Xavier Rhodes, Desmond Trufant) and Tyrann Mathieu, who I am reliably told is not on the Lions draft board.

Robert Alford opened the Senior Bowl with a bang
Jeff Risdon, DLD Editor
The Lions first round pick at #5 overall was not in Mobile. Nobody (including the Lions) knows who that player will be at this point, but it’s safe to assume none of the talent in Senior Bowl week is worthy of that lofty a draft status. But their second and third round picks, and perhaps a couple of later picks, very well could come from the Senior Bowl rosters. Here are ten players that are definitely in play for those picks.

Quinton Patton is a definite winner from today’s practice
Jeff Risdon, DLD Editor
This was my first look at the South roster and I spent most of the day looking at linebackers, secondary, tight ends, and wideouts. If you’re the type that likes to listen to music while reading, most of this was typed to Rush’s Snakes and Arrows live CD.
