The Irish hosted the Cardinal on a chilly, rainy October afternoon with real wind chill below freezing. Stanford entered at 3-1, while the Irish were 4-0 and ranked 9th. Dan Hicks and Mike Mayock had the call for NBC. Notre Dame held on for a 17-14 win in a very sloppy game. More balls were dropped than caught and neither team had any success running the ball. If anyone ever tells you Kevin Hogan or Everett Golson is an NFL quarterback, point them to this debacle to prove otherwise.  (more…)

Paulo Figari

In a battle between two historic universities, Notre Dame and LSU will face head to head in a highly anticipated bowl game. Rutgers and Notre Dame will face off in Yankee Stadium in one of the more intriguing December bowl games. Last year’s game was memorable for West Virginia QB Geno Smith having a brutal afternoon in the snow. Syracuse rolled the Mountaineers and left the draft community stunned. There will be several future NFL players on the field this year too.  (more…)

It was a beautiful fall afternoon in South Bend, 81 degrees and sunny with a light westerly breeze and a few cirrus clouds dotting the sky. Oklahoma scored 14 points almost before the game started and held on to win 35-21. I noticed scouts from at least 10 teams in attendance, and a front office personnel staffer from another.
