Where does Geno Smith land in Darren Page’s 7-round mock?
This mock draft was written before the announcement of the Darrelle Revis trade, so keep that into consideration. Explanations stop at the conclusion of the fifth round, because explanations anywhere after are all going to be the same in effect: depth picks.

This is my annual exercise in donning the GM hat for all 32 teams. In no way am I trying to predict what will actually happen on the final weekend in April. These picks represent what I would do with the given pick in the given situation, the opposite of my normal mock draft protocol. The effort is to see the team through the eyes of the GM in place and not interject too much of my own bias. Eric Fisher as the Lions first round pick? I’ll take it!
This edition goes out to five rounds and includes the comp picks through those rounds. I did not project trades in this one but be advised that many of the picks are more designed to match player with draft slot than team to player, particularly after the first 50 or so slots. I did less of that in this version than I typically do, for the faithful who have followed me for years now.
As always, this is an attempt to forecast what teams might do with the picks and does not necessarily represent the same choices I would make in the given situations.
