Strengths: Ronald Powell is a good athlete that can be a very good edge rusher in the NFL.  He is a very versatile player, as he played outside linebacker, middle linebacker, and spent most of his time playing with his hand in the dirt as a defensive end. Powell has good speed, running 4.65 40-yard dash.  He also accelerates quickly, and has the acceleration to get around blockers.  Powell reads and diagnoses plays very well.  He almost never gets fooled by trick plays or read options.  (more…)

LSU vs. Florida ’13 Game Notes

LSU hosted Florida in a battle of one-loss teams in early October in Death Valley. It was sunny and humid for the rare afternoon tilt in Baton Rouge, with the thermometer reading 84 degrees at kickoff. LSU prevailed 17-6 in a game dominated not so much by defense but more by inept QB play from both teams. Jeremy Hill had several big runs to help key the otherwise anemic LSU offense. (more…)
