It’s no secret: the Lions need a pass rusher or two in this draft. Because the defense seldom blitzes, that means defensive ends. I think we will see less of the Wide 9 technique, but any Lions DE must have the ability to play from that alignment. That means speed and the ability to flatten around the edge. Here is an option for each Lions pick in the draft. These players should realistically remain available for the Lions when they pick.

I spent the first portion of practice watching the defensive back drills, then moved to the offensive line drills. I also got some good looks at a few select others, and took some notes on what teams were talking to what players after practice.

Dann O’Neill hopes to impress in St. Pete

I’m heading to St. Petersburg for Shrine Game week, the oldest postseason All-Star game and a good place to look at later-round talents and priority free agents from the college ranks. Here as some of the guys I will be watching closely to see how they fit with the Lions, as well as the rest of the NFL.
