Lions Camp Notes from Aug. 7th

I made the trek to Ford Field for Wednesday’s open practice. The crowd was enthusiastic and about the same size as most Houston Astros games I’ve attended, which means the lower bowl was about 20% full.

–Dan Orlovsky had about as bad a day as a quarterback can have. He threw (picture Lebron counting here…) not one, not two, not three, but four interceptions. Only one of those was a truly nice play by the defender. His balls lack zip, and his elongated and deliberate delivery make him easy pickings. (more…)


Detroit Lions Training Camp Notes, Aug. 1st

I spent the first part of practice watching the DBs in a couple of drills before moving to the OL vs. DL in a spirited pass rush drill. Most of the observations from the day will be from these position groups.

Unless his draft stock takes a dive, Terrance Williams is unlikely to be a Lion

As you eat all the leftovers from Christmas and try to figure out where you can possibly fit all that new stuff into your home, there are some quality football games on Dec. 26th. One of them is the Holiday Bowl featuring Baylor and UCLA. Both these teams have a couple of players the Lions, and others, will look at come April.
